Signing a contract with China is like, ascribing to the boiling frog effect; a fable describing a frog being boiled alive slowly. If you drop a frog suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if you put that same frog in a vessel of water and start heating the water gradually, it will adjust its body temperature accordingly until it reaches a stage beyond its capacity and dies foolishly.

It’s rather pathetic how China is re-colonizing Africa by appealing to the ignorance and selfish interests of our leaders. Today, the Chinese are offering mouthwatering deals to Africa, both in cash transactions and the outmoded or rather defunct barter trade which seem very attractive on the outlook but dangerous in reality.

DON’T MISS THIS: A NATION, CONTINENT AND PEOPLE FOOLED BY RELIGION

The Zambian government contracted the Chinese, lazy-thought and glossed over details thinking they were granting consent to gernuine terms but the whole thing just morphed into modern day colonialism. China is now proposing to take over the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport should Zambia Government fail to pay back its huge foreign debt on time. The issue of whether Zambia posses the required economic muscle to repay that debt is in contention considering the amount involved. It’s typical of the Chinese strategy.

That moreover is not the only thing Zambian suffered from China; the Chinese own 60% shares of the Zambian National Broadcasting corporation which means, Chinese have an influence over what should or should not be premiered on their sets.

Ghana is equally towing same lane as our leaders have started signing contracts already; Chinese owned company, STARTIME is gradually gaining grounds over our major institutions, our biggest mining companies will soon be “taken” over by a Chinese company and many others. Now if this is not modern day slavery, what then is it? The 21st century African slave is never in chain; we are in debt caused by the ignorance or selfish interests of our leaders. Pathetic!

  1. It is taking us 500 years back all over again sad inni

    1. I think Nigeria needs to learn rather than thinking of China taking by over our lands. So far after independence what have built and able to maintain-non. If China builds let them maintain and we learning by them employing our youths to how we maintain our infrastructures
There be proper handling over of our infrastructure from leader to leaders
It’s true a Nigerian bought an airport in U.K. No nation has it all. What we need here is honesty in handling ourselves and love to serve the nation and the people. If today there is proper accountability amongst us we will not be where we are today. Let’s see that the abuja airport does not become a source of debt for us and generations to come

      1. Greetings from Aruba. Be wise.

      2. No a good response

  2. This is not greed or evil. The African leadership is highly compromised. In retrospect we see helpless predicament of bad deals playing out. Soon as pridected Chinese will play huge role in taking over our economy in the future.

    1. Chinese have come to Africa to do business. The aim of any business man is to make profit. Your colonial masters wouldn’t invest in Africa because of CORRUPTION which is very rife in Africa and is regarded as a NORM and lack of infrastructure. The Chinese have come to help us to develop these things and we are saying another colonisation. A Nigerian bought Gatwick airport and recently bought a train service in Italy. Let’s stop thinking like this and look at the positive sides. The world is a global village now.

      1. well said

        1. Dumbest response I ever heard…the world has become a global Villa, granted, but it doesn’t mean we have to mortgage our resources to a new colonial master…because like it or not it will affect generations to come..my country was formerly colonised by England, but whatever loans we got from them never required us to mortgage any of our resources both man made and natural. If you are so confident that the world is a global village and go to China and try to set up an investment there…..see if they roll out the redcarpert for you..see if they are willing to be employed by a black African..wake up… please don’t take us back while we trying to make progress

          1. TRUE

          2. Thank you for your honest response. The Chinese will never allow you to purchase property in China not to talk of owning a business.

          3. Thank you for your honest response. The Chinese will never allow you to purchase property in China not to talk of owning a business.

        2. Not well said. This is what to say:
          1. Nigeria should negotiate in each project contract to
          I. Provide 50% of the requisite local materials.
ii. Provide 50% of labour content
          3. Affiliate all Project to one or two of our Universities, Polytechnics, Trade Schools for Technogy Transfer and future maintenance of Project Facility.
          4. Never collateralize any other national assets except the project under consideration.
          5. Even in the event of takeover which is like Receivership there must be 50/50% membership of the Committee on Takeover.
          6. Technology to be 21 century Technogy ie Car Assembly must be “Electric Car Assembly” and not faced out technologies.
7 Project must be in the high tech industry ie
          * fabrication of aircrafts
          * fabrication of ocean going liners
          * fabrication of war equipment like missiles, auto guns, war ships, satalllite ships, nuclear warheads and such ventures, etc, etc.
I can help in the negotiations. E- Rufai has not the technic for favourable critical negotiating power. After all he was a mere Estate man.

      2. Obafemi is on point. If u can’t go to the moon Pls allow others. Our people have investment even in America. We are living in a world of wit,the Lilliput or mumudondu suffers.the Earth is the Lord’s n the fullness thereof.Who told u Nigeria is your own.Do have investment in Nigeria ?

      3. The article is true as said. But then China indeed will take a large chunk of the world tech and business. This is a country that has worked hard to achieve this in both their moral ethics, sense of trade and business dealings to technology education. With all these going on in thier home country what has African countries been doing. Nothing!
On a lighter note I’ve been considering learning Chinese language and culture at one of their institutions in Nigeria to be ready for what’s coming 🙂

        1. Thank you for your honest response. The Chinese will never allow you to purchase property in China not to talk of owning a business.

        2. Thank you for your honest response. The Chinese will never allow you to purchase property in China not to talk of owning a business.

          1. Self colonialism, africans are children forever. False rulers and managers ever.

      4. I agree 500% with you Akin. To those who think his answer is dump, think twice or are you one of our corrupt civil servant bellying from the poor tax payers money?
What am I saying? Go back & look at your local bank that lends you money & you place your house as security. You get the loan but use it for buying luxurious cars instead of investing. Do you think the banks plan was to take your house? As a matter of fact you just engaged it into more cost inform of time to sell of your property to recover.
This problem lies in our African leadership so infested with corruption from the president down to ever our school teachers & traffic police.
If our leaders deligently guard tax payers money, these debts are relatable. This is the reason why the western countries fear giving us loans (how many loan have they tried to cancel) & so the Chinese seeing these are not ready to cancel, they come up with a measure they hope not to lose…our guys still do fail their country men.
Look at Uganda where a half of the northern bypass went to the drain in corruption & the grant is almost to be withdrawn.
Oh cry African leadership. Colonial time they actually were the ones selling our people to slave traders not the other way round as history put it in class that it was the Arabs or colonialists.

        1. Sure, objective! Our leader. You can’t blame Chinese.

      6. Great

      7. You have your head buried deeply in the sand.

      8. Very wise commentary in the face of many fear mongering articles like this one.

      9. Very Good Response.

      10. Wait until you will see that whatever your saying is totally useless. China is taking over Africa and as a matter of fact the same thing is also under way here in Kenya. We may as much hate the U.S for being super power but better them than these Chinese in fact I really really love those tariffs the U.S has imposed on the Chinese goods.

    2. Yes, tell the African to travel and see what the world looks like. China is taking over the whole world, not only Zambia and Africa because they believe in the ways of their ancestors, hard work and planning their future their way, not just learning outdated white mans books and ways like our politicians, pastors and people.
Africa has enough universities and copy and paste graduates like myself but there is very urgent need for original thinkers can combine the white mans knowledge with the situations in Africa.

    3. Would Africa have an economy without Chinese help? Most likely not. How can one blame China for bad African leadership or mismanagement? This does not make any sense. China can only deal with leaders who are in power.
Europeans were in Africa for centuries and they were mercilessly exploited. So now the Chinese are there with the whole world watching unlike in former times when Europe exploited Africa in the dark. So blaming China seems silly. The answer imo is for Africans to step up to the plate and create a better future for themselves with help from outside whether it be Chinese or not.

  3. Thank u so much for the information 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿Great job

  4. China and US of A..the battlegroud..the Almighty might of superpowers all fight for States and Territories..lands which do not belong to them…Nation States…America Not in my Backyard…China Not in my Backyard..

  5. Thank you for alerting the ppl of their own transgressions because it is the greed and crab in a barrel mentality that is some of our own downfall so sad, now let’s start plotting out a new way of thinking and unfortunately some of us will have to be left behind.

  6. Africa’s “odious debt”! The frog analogy jumps right out at you as so appropriate. I think there is combined a lack of sophistication on part of the African leaders to predict these outcomes and their long term impact on the people of Africa and those leaders’ eagerness to grab funds or to appear they are making strides in advancing Africa. But, there is also the inertia of the masses (to which there can be many factors ascribed); hopefully, direct communication, as your opinion piece, will help alleviate this mass ignorance or apathy toward pressuring our leaders to do better, much better.

    1. Well said. Let the conversation begin. Lets wake up.

  7. So another words Africans don’t have shit to say to America China Russia Japan Australia Canadiens Europeans nobody when you can come in and talk shit to the African and walk away with all the deal wealth and resources Africans dumbest shit and don’t have shit to say to anybody that just fucked up now after all these years of colonial rule and white people coming in taking advantage of Africa it’s not China’s fault they just like the Americans taking advantage of an opportunity when you got dumb asses sitting on gold and don’t realize it you can come and talk some shit to him and walk away with the goal and leave them with the bag of sand

  8. So what are you as an individual doing about this whole scenario?

  9. Then how are the Africans going to progress? Do they have to continue to starve like when they were when they got their independence from the European? Who will develop the African countries without any condition as to payment?

    1. Well said, if I don’t pay my house mortgage, my bank will repossess it, as simple as that!

  10. I see no reason why the writer mentions the boiling frog effect. We are like in a situation where a frog is put into boiling water and it lives and dies in it without making any effort to step out.

  11. I just hope and pray that Nigeria should not be a victim of china.

  12. I get the going concern for China’s intervention in Africa. Supposedly, all you need do to avoid defaults is to pay your debts. How colonial and imperialist of the Chinese. What would the IMF do as an alternative for defaulting on debts? What gets me is the alacrity of labeling everything as colonialism; when the history of actual colonialism in Africa is very recent. Additionally, the number of American bases currently being gleefully accepted on the continent is not being questioned, when history would suggest that its from these bases that the prior colonial powers will re-establish their imperialism on the continent.

    1. China has more soldiers in Africa than The USA! Food for thought?

  13. I hope Buhari get to understand this Sha…if later in future china won to claim any of our property..where ever Buhari dey…even if his inside grave…we go put up your grave for sell..

  14. We’re being exterminated on all sides…

  15. Your Comment Here…This is what African leaders to be aware , running to China is not economic benefit to African , they may. look at it at present that’s good, but in future , it will turn to be colonianlism. Especially without understanding the terms of the deals they signed .

  16. Thanks for your personal marvelous posting! I actually enjoyed reading
it, you will be a great author. I will remember to bookmark your

  19. usher the chinese outta unuh place with dem cheap deal

  20. Agreed with Dam as the Melayu proverb goes “Ukur baju pada badan sendiri” – spend at your own capacity n where you can afford….
How can country can get into this situation unless there is mismanagement of the finance, God n good governance has disappeared n values were not seen in the leaders n patriotism has died……. the people has to wakeup n change…

  21. It was sooo embrassing how the Chinese herded ALL the African Presidents and Prime Ministers with their individual huge delegations etc. in China last week. Each, dangling his begging Fan. What a shame!

  22. African lacks of identity has affected its originality. It is a continent that anything can thrive and system can be manipulated, this and among others can be attributed to people whose history have been distorted and replaced with the so called modernity. This confusion has be intensified arising from the configuration of the UN and been manifested in the asymmetrical relations in the global system. I see corruption in African as a alien which has been planted in the African soil by colonial forces. This is a foreign virus, neocolonial and imperialistic device used by some global forces to have a place in African market for the survival of their goods and services. Africans are good and blessed people but her culture has been polluted…. more advocacy and cultural reorientation of the originality of the Africans will go along way to stop the global mess upon the African continent

  23. China unlike Europe and USA seems more friendly towards Africa’s development because she is offering the much needed cash. However, ty he leaders of Africa INFLATE the LOANS thousands of times so yheu can keep the rest of the money for themselves. The public gets a raw deal- something CHEAP and outdated like the DIESEL INGINE TRAIN for the STANDARD GAUGE RAILWAY for KENYA to ty that cost the life of several generations of Kenyans. For sure, beforethese LOANS are acquired,PUBLIC input and decision needs to be seriously considered.

    1. You are so right. What can we do? Unless we can vote out the corrupt leaders, which we will not, We cant do shit.
If you go to China as an African, most Chinese don’t like you. Just the leaders talk great to African leaders and bribe those close to power who don’t care about the ordinary African in their country.

  24. Hi, I do believe this is an excellent blog.

I stumbledupon it 😉 I am going to come back yet
again since i have bookmarked it. Money and freedom
is the greatest way to change, may you be rich
    and continue to help others.

  25. There is no problem there if you cannot manage the project. China takes over, you still get to enjoy it.

  26. The British the American abundant Africa so the Chinese want to invest at a cost so if you fault they have to pay a price just like having a mortgage on a house

  27. Why should zambia not be expected to pay there debts on time? Because they are black? Fuck you if you’re too poor to pay the loan dont take the loan. Niggers

  28. You are speaking the truth. The truth must to told. The masses must be educated to know the realities they are in. Well done and continue your good work. Will support you in every way. Happy to share your post in Facebook.
    Thanks

  29. It is not Africa only, Sir Lanka just released their Port to China. My understanding is that a toll road with significant real estate reserves, in Jamaica will soon follow. The Chinese are supporting uneconomical projects in third world countries and when income is not realized, they renegotiate for bigger stakes along with the failed project,

  30. Buhari has gone to sign Nigeria into debt with China and stupid people are applauding him.

  31. Chinese World Colonization in progress. UN, US and so called super powers are spectators. Hope they take corrective steps before it’s too late.

  32. Chinese World Colonization in progress. UN, US and so called super powers are spectators. Hope they take corrective steps before it’s too late.

  33. Chinese World Colonization in progress. UN, US and so called super powers are spectators. Hope they take corrective steps before it’s too late.

  34. Why ask the US to intervene on the stupidity & greed & get lured by China money. You are stupid to have them as partners . You deserve to be had!

  35. Why ask the US to intervene on the stupidity & greed & get lured by China money. You are stupid to have them as partners . You deserve to be had!

  36. Africa is selling, China is buying, Africa is Existing and China is living. If you can’t make right decision for yourself others have to make for you. Africa always elect representatives of imperialists, new-colonialists to watering dead plants. So let’s continue our slavery journey. MARCUS GARVEY, KWAME NKRUMAH, JOMO KENYATTA, HAILE SELASSIE and the like are not Chinese or Americans but you said no them and their PHILOSOPHIES and looked outside.

  37. Nothing wrong g with China buying and colonizing is two different things .

  38. With due respect this is very frightening. I would imagine the Chinese would be able to use the People’s Liberation Army for security and establish a military base within their airport. I would imagine Customs control would be ceded and anything can go out and come in and the Zambian Govt. will know nothing about it? At the same time, you would not know what is going on because the TV will not broadcast it. Not a great future for Zambia 🙁

  39. All I can see and read here is a sort of condenmenation on why most African countries opted for Chinese loans, But no one is telling or giving a suggestion on any alternatives means in which Africa and it’s people can survive

  40. All I can see and read here is a sort of condenmenation on why most African countries opted for Chinese loans, But no one is telling or giving a suggestion on any alternatives means in which Africa and it’s people can survive

    1. Imagine haters of development

  41. The solution is for our leaders to stop stealing and mzungu to return stolen public funds back to Africa. You will realize Africa can become a lender

  42. I think we African’s need to recheck ourselves. We are so distant from each other and we compete for nothing..There are wars within, socially and economically. Each country hunger for superiority. I think unity within ourselves can beat every odd. I am sure Africans are the smartest people in the world. They lack wisdom to fight for their unity. Where is Gaddafi? How did he die unjustly and not even a single person raised his voice. What was he advocating? Where is Mugabe? Do you remember what TRUMP said about him on campaigns? What’s happening in Uganda? What did TRUMP got to say about him? What are they so concerned with Africa? Why we Africans don’t like to work together? Why are we fighting for superiority why we can’t stand alone with all these Carnivorous countries are waiting to devour us? Hey Tanzania, hey Kenya, hey Zambia, hey Sudan ,Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique, Ivory cost, Mali,Togo ,South Africa….. Let’s wake up. The unity we had during the war against colonialism should ring again . Let’s sing the same song. Let’s put on tables agendas with not even a single white man in. We will welcome them when we talk global issues. Africa is for Africans ,African meetings and agendas will always be successful even without any foreigners.

  43. Always when writing/saying something look at the positive and negative sides of everything you write, somehow Chinese are not all that bad, some people are just trying to paint them black.

  44. In Zambia it’s home for China. They even sell phones by vending when Zambians ar not aloud to do street vending

  45. Unquestionably believe that which you said.
Your favorite reason seemed to be on the web the simplest
thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they just don’t know

Will probably be back to get more. Thanks http://sexymap.net/exlink.php?url=http://www.mbet88vn.com

  47. This is very interesting. Africa is like a menu or cake every continent want a piece of. Fellow Africans don’t fool yourself that someone will come and dishes his hard earned cash to help you for nothing. All we need to do as African is to change our common leadership style which is characterised by child leadership style. A child is dependent so as African independence sydrom. Africa will perish we don’t start thinking different. Africa is on sale and African leaders are salesmen. That’s all I can say.

  48. When some one searches for his necessary thing, therefore he/she needs to be available that in detail, therefore
that thing is maintained over here.

  49. We have capable Nigerians with fiscal knowledge and construction management skills. Nigerian and other African descendants are skillful enough to equate mega contract with performance and amortization of any financial responsibilities. Chinese do not come for development, they are there for domination and there acceptance should be suspected with Nigerian national economic interest. Technically, it is much easier to train workers for new tech engineering jobs now than before. It is doable if the corruption is out of the way. Some Africans care less but themselves because there is no justice for malpractices.

  51. Do not feel alone… I am 70 years old, and it took me 60+ years to realize that even we Americans are slaves within our own country to the big banking mafia cartels, who are the same ones pushing the New World order. You have to do what they say, or they will take your house, or your car, or you will lose your good job, or your kids will not get into a good school, or you will suddenly have income tax problems, etc. etc. etc. If you have any kind of debt, you are not free.
In other words they want to control the whole world and make us all slaves. What I have not figured out yet is whether China is part of this western banking cartel, or a competing Asian cartel. It looks like they are using the same tactics on both sides of the ocean. But China is much more aggressive and interested in developing nations, because they want the natural resources and want to create new markets for their overproduction in China. It is the same as the so-called American or western colonial expansion of the 20th century. The key is to stop globalism, and to seek help before signing anything with the Chinese, to make sure you are not signing a death trap for your nation. Another problem in many developing countries is that the leaders will do just fine and become wealthy, taking the money that should go to repay these debts. Big problem.

  52. This is all about Prophecy fulfillment. There are many Israelites still left in China as well as the USA. Allah is going to will us all too return to the promised land soon. He says He will do it so we must have faith. He will gather us from the four corners of the Earth. So, it comes as no surprise that the African Israelites could end up losing their lands in order for Allah to motivate them to go back to our REAL home which is Judea (Israel/Palestine). He says that one day we won’t see Africa anymore. You must all start to adjust your mindsets towards heading home. Give up your desires for petty worldiness and embrace Islam. Jesus Christ is a Muslim, and Jerusalem is our birthright after next year. They may try to stop us, but they will fail. This is God’s plan. Salam.

  53. Africa is still Africa in a very deep sleep. Why this fuss about China now. Haven’t the West been using the World Bank and IMF for ages to give huge loans to African countries in order to dictate how things should be done in Africa? Some of these loans were given to African countries who did not even have the capacity to repay them why? In order to control these countries. Chinese are giving loans without interfering in politics of African countries. IMF, World Bank and of course the West is loosing monopoly over Africa. They are crying foul. Whether it is the West or Chinese runnining the show, we Africans are still sleeping giants. The selfishness, tribalism, nepotism, ignorance, the greed for money and the thirst for political power are some of the diseases that has made Africa fall a very deep pit far below the rest of other continents of the world. We should only blame ourselves because no one can take advantage of you if you don’t allow him to do so. God bless Africa.

  54. It is another side moment for African. However, we need to retrospect a little bit and put on our thinking caps and ask some fundamental questions. One of the questions to ask is, on what pillars was Africa established after the era of slavery and capitalism? Our imperialist masters set up a corrupt foundation during the heat of slavery and colonialism thereby dissallowing our forefathers the just right to governed their people. They make us appear like we can’t govern ourselves because were uneducated and uncivilized. That was the myth then and it is still being permeated around. Neocolonialsm was long being perceived by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He called for a united fight among African leaders but some of them couldn’t listened because they were brain wash long ago.. The western manipulation and the theory of divide and ruled affected that genuine effort. Africa wasn’t capable to build it’s own biggest political structure ( AU) until China came in to rescue us. Rwanda is the under the spotlight for now but watch out for many other African countries as well. Don’t be surprised when Chain starts to put demands for the usage of the AU Headquater in the future. I will end the discussion this question; For how long should Africa continue to serve as a begging bowl for the west?

  55. Well, what does Ԍod like?? Lee adԀed.
?I imply, we like cookies ɑnd cartoons ɑnd toys,
but what sort of things are fun for God?? It was a query that for a minute Mommy and Dаddy needed to assume about.

  56. Working as a contract paгɑlegal has components in its faᴠor, and components whiⅽh might
be negative to some people. If a sense of adventure and excitement
in your ᴡork life iѕ what woulԁ suіt yoᥙ the
